On the first beautiful day of the year, my partner in crime Vlad and myself took up our cameras for a stroll in and around Kensington Market, downtown Toronto. I’ve been here before but I don’t go often (which is a shame because there’s a killer cheese shop here) as it’s ‘downtown’, which for Scarborians is like driving to the third city over. Too far and too much traffic to get stuck in.

We were hardly the only ones out as the beckoning sunshine drew hoards of photographers out, some of which we had a nice chat with. The market itself is an institution here in Toronto, and worth a visit if you’re ever in the area. You’ll find a plethora of food options, (thrifting) stores and more. It’s a cauldron filled with a tasty multicultural soup and a quirky flair.

We didn’t set a target or subject for this photo walk, something I think I should give more thought the next time. These are some of the snapshots from that day:

Go visit sometime! And if you find it’s not quite your jam, 0ne of Toronto’s Chinatowns is right around the corner, as well as shopping streets, music stores and museums. This part of Toronto is quite walkable and I don’t visit enough. Then again, I am a Scarborian…
Oh, and that killer cheese? Look for the Cheese Magic shop on 182 Baldwin Street when you have a chance. It’s cheesy.
