The “Commensality” project started in the early days of 2025 and is still going strong. I have yet to set an end date to this documentary-style endeavor as the concept of commencality has no end and also as I’m simply looking for a larger body of photographs to choose from for its intended purpose: print.

Commensality describes ‘the practice of eating together’, which is -to me at least- not merely ‘having brunch with the blokes’. I experience this as discovery, as every time I am able to share food with friends, family, lovers or strangers I stand to learn more about them, share more about me with them, and appreciate their gift of time, effort and, hopefully, authenticity.
